ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS

Mountain Bike Routes

60 km Route Profile (Same Route as in 2013)

The route features some breathtaking scenery and visits to different areas of this beautiful valley. We have opted for an easier ride, without the technical and challenging sections of previous years. The route starts out on farm roads towards the majestic Swartberg mountains, traversing it's foothills in an easterly direction with a loop back towards Lategansvlei. From here we enter some of the most scenic jeep track around, and an easy ride takes riders towards Buffelskloof and a loop around the famous Red Stone Hills ends a magic day in the saddle. The focus is now on the scenery and the enjoyment of the best The Klein Karoo can offer!

The race will be non technical for all to enjoy!

46 km Route Profile

This is a non technical easy ride on open gravel roads!!! A there and back route with the turnaround at the halfway mark. Very scenic route through the beautiful Groenfontein.

10 km (Easy riding on open gravel roads and flowing jeep track)

Redstone Hills, nestled in the shadow of the majestic Swartberg Mountain range, hosts this inaugural trail run - the amazing route offers never before run single track through the foothills of this world heritage site.

The run offers something for everyone, an open gravel road to warm the legs, a single track climb towards a view never to be forgotten, a descent into Wildehondekloof and onto Lategansvlei bring runners onto a scenic jeep track back towards Buffelskloof.

The finish boasts a beautifully sculptured old cattle track and the water crossing marks the end to this fabulous first time trail run - the run is for everyone, if you can manage a half marathon, then this is for you - do not miss it!
